With over 45 years’ experience in emergency services, including senior leadership roles with the South Australian Country Fire Service, I bring deep expertise in incident management, governance, and risk mitigation strategies.
My background spans frontline operations, strategic planning, and training in high-risk environments. I have held leadership roles such as Regional Commander, Team Leader Specialist and Advanced firefighting, Operations Planning Officer, and State Operations Officer – Urban Technical Operations and Alternative Energy. I have also contributed as a professional trainer within a Registered Training Organisation to equip personnel with the skills required to operate effectively in high-risk environments.
I take a practical, solutions-focused approach, developing tailored Emergency Management Plans (EMP), Fire Risk Management Plans (FRMP), and Emergency Information Guides (EIG) that align with regulatory and industry requirements each tailored to the unique risk profile of the asset and aligned with industry standards, applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks. My experience includes hazardous materials response, flammable incidents, and the development of pre-operational and Major Hazard Facility planning in line with SafeWork SA, enabling me to interpret legislation, technical standards, and risk data to deliver sound, defensible emergency management outcomes
I value clear communication and a practical approach when working closely with industry personnel, regulators, and emergency services to deliver audit ready systems that strengthen safety and resilience.
